Human Rights in Antigua and Barbuda |
Overview of Human Rights in Antigua and Barbuda

Generally, the government of Antigua and Barbuda works to respect the civil and human rights of its citizens but there are a few problem areas which remain. Consistently over the past few years, there have been allegations of police brutality, high levels of corruption, discrimination against women, and mid to moderate rates of sexual abuse against children. Private media outlets also report the government is trying to restrict their access to the public. That said, the country has a good record of human rights when compared with the rest of the countries of the world.
