Overview of Human Rights in St. Kitts and Nevis

The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a constitutional democracy. The government works to respect the civil and human rights of its citizens. In recent years, there have been three major concerns reported on the islands. First, there are extremely poor prison conditions. Second, there is a lack of access by independent media to government-controlled media sources and information. Third, there is the problem of corruption. That said, Saint Kitts and Nevis enjoys one of the world's best records on human rights.
