Zadeh, a singer and pianist, was born in Baku to musicians Vagif and Eliza Mustafa Zadeh. She combines jazz with mugam (a type of folk music based on improvisation and derived from classical poetry), a fusion her father pioneered. Zadeh released the first of many albums in 1991 and has enjoyed successful concert tours and collaborations with prominent jazz musicians.
