Olajuwon played soccer and handball as a youth, before being introduced to basketball as a teenager. His height—he’s 7 feet tall—and athletic ability helped him become a successful player, first in Nigeria and then at the University of Houston. He went on to become one of the NBA’s greatest centers and is noted for helping lead the Houston Rockets to a National Championship.
