While working her way through school, Iman was discovered by a fashion photographer. She became one of the most famous models of the 1970s and 1980s. She also gained small acting parts in several Hollywood movies. In 1992 she married her second husband, British rock star David Bowie, with whom she has one child. In 1994, she started a successful line of cosmetics for women of color.
