Passion or Profession: chess player

Nangwale has gained a considerable amount of notoriety as a chess champion in Zambia. Not only does the young woman travel to international competitions, playing against the best players in the world, but she also makes time to mentor young girls and teach them how to play chess. She made waves internationally when she showed up at a 2002 international competition held in Slovenia with her hair covered in beads that represented the colors of the flag of Zambia.
