Period: 1935–
One of the leading cricket players of the 1960s, Kanhai played for the West Indies test team from 1957 until 1974. His international test career spanned 79 matches, during which he scored a total of 6,227 runs. He was recognized as one of the game's top players when he received the Wisden Cricketer of the Year Award in 1964. Outside of test cricket, Kanhai played for teams in Guyana, Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, and England.
