Born Michael Zulu, this reggae singer took the name St. Michael as a stage name. At first more interested in theater, he switched to music because he thought he could better convey his messages to society that way. A politically active Rastafarian, St. Michael sings songs about government, societal problems, and AIDS. He is also active in several groups that promote AIDS awareness. In 2001 he was a finalist for Best Male Artist at the KORA All-Africa Music Awards.
