Ingredients

• 1 kilo flour
• 300 milliliters milk
• 6 eggs
• 300 grams butter
• 300 milligrams sugar
• 50 grams yeast
• 3/4 spoonful salt
• 150 grams raisins
• 50 grams candied fruit, chopped
• 50 grams almond, chopped
• 1/2 spoonful vanillin
• 5 grains cardamom, ground

Directions

• Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add half of the flour, mix well, cover, and put in a warm place to rise.
• Separate the yolks and the egg whites.
• Blend sugar and vanillin with 5 yolks.
• Beat the egg whites.
• When the dough starts rising, add salt, yolks, and butter. Mix well. Add egg whites and the rest of flour. Mix well. Cover the dough and put it in a warm place.
• When the dough doubles in volume, add raisins, candied fruit, almonds, and cardamom. Mix well and shape into a loaf. Leave to rise.
• When the dough starts rising, brush one beaten yolk on top and put the dough into the oven.
• Bake for 60 minutes at 375°F.
