UMA or PARVATHI is the Consort of SHIVA. She is generally addressed as MOTHER GODDESS. She has THOUSAND NAMES (SAHASTHRANAMA). She is AMBIKA (Mother), MAHAMAYA (Great Illusion), DURGA (Inaccessible), SHAKTHI (Female Energy), DEVI (Goddess), SARVAMANGALA (Ever-Auspicious), KAMAKSHI (Wanton-Eyed), KAALI (Black) etc. She is FIERCE and BENEVOLENT. As Durga and Kali, She is a Goddess complete in Herself, representative of all the FORMS and FORCES that DESTROY EVIL and promotes GOOD and WELL-BEING of the UNIVERSE.
