  1. 1 cup besan flour
  2. 2 tsp rice flour
  3. 11/4 cup sugar
  4. 2 pinch of yellow color
  5. 8 to 10 broken cashew nuts
  6. 6 to 8 raisins                                                 
  7. 4 cardamom
  8. 1 pinch of pachai karpooram


  1. Mix besan flour and rice flour with water and make a thick batter.
  2. Add 1 ½ cup of water to the sugar and make syrup of single thread-like consistency. Add yellow color mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Hold the boondhi disc on the hot oil and pour a ladle of batter on it rub it vigorously with the bottom of the ladle.
  4. Deep fry and remove from the fire and drain add the boondi to syrup.
  5. Prepare boondhies with the remaining batter as given above and add to the sugar syrup mix well every time.
  6. Add fried cashew nut, raisins, cardamom and pachai karpooram.
  7. Mix well roll into ballas of required size, At
  8. First the laddus may be slightly sticky. After sometime the sugar syrup will be completely absorbed by the boondhies.
