  • 2 cans ful (fava) beans
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 5 medium tomatoes, finely cut
  • 5 to 10 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely cut
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, finely cut
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 green chili (optional)


  • Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and brown.
  • Add the remainder of the ingredients except the beans.
  • Coarsely mash the beans and add to the mixture.
  • Cook until ingredients are well blended.
  • Serve with bread.
